Shot this doe Saturday with the 23 at 20 yards. Used the 165 grain Sierra at 1250fps (+P). The doe ran about 50 yards. about 1.5" hole through both lungs and exited. Chest cavity was full of blood and a massive hematoma under skin on both sides. The gun is running a minimum spec chamber barrel with a 24lbs spring and ss guide rod.

That's my #1 bullet in the .40. Try both shoulders next time. THey don't run as far.

I had to thread this bullet between trees and all I could see for sure was the lung shot. No complaints though.
