Was walking the old railroad tracks the other night when my Black and Tan sniffed up this nasty old possum who then tried to bite off a piece of my coonhound`s hide so while she kept him busy I slipped a "long rifle" from the side using a 2" model 63 and scattered his brains....... "try and bite my dog"

James, Great looking B&T, as a young man I hunted Black &Tans off the Night Rider and Tennessee Fiddler bloodlines. I love a good Coonhound. I hunt and raise English Coonhounds now. By the way great shot on that "Ole Grinner".

Good shootin', and good lookin' pooch, James.
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

POSSUMS ARE UGLY SOB's, AND I HAVE SOME REALLY BIG & UGLY ONES AT THE RANCH. DON'T KNOW WHERE THEY CAME FROM AS I JUST STARTED SEEING THEM IN THE LAST YEAR OR SO. HAVE NOT FELT THE NEED TO SHOOT ANY YET, BUT THEY ARE ON PROBATION.
"ADAPT OR DIE". I USE ALL CAPS, NOT BECAUSE I AM YELLING, BUT BECAUSE IT IS AN OLD HABIT FROM MY ARMY DAYS, PLUS IT IS EASIER TO TYPE AND READ.

Nice shooting and great looking doggie.
Those things hiss and growl and are just plain mangy looking. I used to shoot them on sight until I learned how many ticks they eat. For the past few years they have got a pass now.

nice looking hound and a great shot- i ran english hounds for 30 plus years both for pleasure and competition. Most of the black and tans that i hunted with had deep bawl mouth voices. really liked that.
