Returned to a much colder and snow filled Maine for another bobcat hunt... Arrived Mon. afternoon and it snowed from that evening through to early Wed. morning, and on and off there after, until I left Friday evening... Another hunter shot a coyote and fox but I did not see anything move until the last few hours of the last day... Used my Freedom Arms .41 mag and a hot 210 XTP handload that gave an instant kill on the cat..
The bait was 61 yards away...... Top picture is from blind to bait at edge of wood line... Third picture down is view from another blind....

Congrats! That was some beautiful scenery to enjoy while waiting on that cat.

Looks like that load didn't damage the hide much. How does the off side look?

Nothing like a nice week of hunting in the beautiful outdoors to relax and unwind. I still think Jim needs to bring you to Ohio

Good Shootin there James. Cant wait to get me sights on a bobcat again. I say again because I had one sneek up on me when I was first into handgun hunting and lets just say that I had never practiced for a 7 yd shot before and didnt know where to aim my red dot. Pulled the trigger and shot the dirt. lesson learned

Very nice James, I'm jealous. I almost pulled the trigger on a nice bobcat in Kansas, be he jumped a large 10 pointer out of the pig grass, so I took him instead.

Nice job James, I didn't realize this was a new one so I hadn't opened it. Bobcats are never easy, no matter the method. The first animal I ever called in with a varmint call was a Bobbie. I was in a Juniper Tree out by the Nuclear site in the desert & it crawled right in on me before I ever saw it. I had a Winchester 62A pump with a cheap scope on it & it was off a little bit. I held off & shot 7-8 times trying to hit it but couldn't get lucky. I was still in high school & didn't know how to adjust the scope. Pretty exciting to see one almost at your feet. Again, congratulations!

Dick
