I have the Bushnell Trophy 2-6X32 scope and like it very much. I thought I might like to try the Elite version but I see it is discontinued.

I may try to buy a used one but first I want to ask those who have had both, what are the differences other than price? Is the glass quality much better on the Elite?

NOT SURE WHAT THE DIFFERENCE IS BUT IT IS NOT COSMETIC, PAY THE DIFFERENCE AND GET AN ELITE

The Elite is made more sturdy and is meant for magnum guns (I have one on a .500 S&W that has held up for 6+ years).
The Trophy is for milder recoiling guns. I have a friend using one on a .44 Mag, but I would go a little lower. Mine are on .22s/.357s. They do fine here.
Both are great scopes that have excellent eye relief through all powers.

Good to know Doc. My Trophy is on my CVA Scout .243. I better switch it to something milder.

My other scopes are fixed, a Leupold, Nikon and Burris, and I like them all but even though the Bushnell is cheaper it appears brighter and more clear to my eyes.

I plan on using my Trophy on a .243 Scout temperory until I can find a good deal on a Burris, Leopold or Weaver. It will end up on a Ruger .22 Charger.

Coating on Elite glass is much better, and fixed 20" eye relief. You can see how water beads up on Elite, vs the Trophy. Field of view, isn't great on Elite.

On EA Browns site there used to be a diagram showing a cross section of both scopes. I don't recall the specifics but the Elite was definitely beefed up compared to the Trophy. I've never owned a Trophy but have several Elites and have been happy with them.

Bushnell bought out Bausch & Lomb, the legendary German scope manufacturer, and the Bushnell Elite 3200 is the "original" B&L Elite 3000. It is, as stated, the much superior scope of the two asked about.

I have had and do have both the B&L and the Bushnell and they have held up to .454's and everything else I have put them on.

Spend the extra cash and avoid being "let down" on that big game hunt that you trusted that "trophy" scope with.
