Let's just say I had some extra time on my hands, and noticed I had some black powder (The REAL stuff. Swiss 3F and 4F.) that just happened to be sitting next to my reloading stuff since we haven't completely unpacked from moving. My mind immediately got sidetracked, and I wondered, "Can you shoot a 500 JRH with black powder? Could you fill the case up like a 45 Colt round, and shoot it through a revolver AND a rifle??

Could be lots of fun, but just remember how corrosive the residue is.

In 1865 Remington had a rim fire .50 pistol cartridge for the rolling block pistol. In 1867 it was changed to center fire.
