I would like to use a leupold delta point pro on on my new smith 500 6.5 inch revolver. I use ultra dots on my .454s but wanted something of a lower profile for an upcoming hunt on a big bear. Anyone know if this would hold up
On the 500 s&w?

Thanks for any feedback

It did on mine! I used the mount in which you removed the rear sight.

I had a DPP on a FA 454 that failed after about 20 shots. The on-with-movement feature quit working. Leupold replaced it and the second DPP is working fine after 200 shots on a 454.

I too have the Leupold DPP 2.5 MOA. It is mounted on a 445 Super Mag Encore and I really like it a lot. I shoot out to 150 yds. and like the fast target acquisition and simplicity. I shoot a pretty stout load and it has held up fine with the recoil. My only dislike of the sight is how it is turned on and running through the light intensities. . .fat fingers or gloves can be a little bit of a chore. Other than that, it's a great hunting sight.
