Recently purchased the Ultimate Cannelure Tool and rolled my first groove on a Speer 300gr JFP made for the 50AE and was impressed.... The photo shows my cannelure on the left with a Speer 300gr Deep Curl with its factory groove on the right.. I still have to adjust the depth of my cannelure....

Yes Dave..... one of the reasons for buying the UCT was to keep my 500WE from being locked away in the safe... Shooting HV 400gr bullets from that gun gets old real fast at this point in my life.. So if 325gr bullets are good from the recoil standpoint it stands to reason that 300gr bullets will be better and show me any deer or boar that can stand up to a well placed shot from a 300gr .50 caliber bullet.. I was original going with heavy weight, low velocity cast bullet load for my 500WE and have some beautiful 450gr SWC-GC bullets from Matts that I could chamber if I trimmed the case... The jacketed 300`s have the added benefit of making a .50 cal even bigger....

Looks right professional, James.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

James
The local toy store has a stock of those bullets on hand if you run low and can't find any more.
