Just got a Nikon Force XR scope with my S&W 629 classic and was wondering what the good, bad and ugly is with it and what experiences you?ve all had. Appreciate any info!

I have an older model Nikon variable with the traditional plain crosshair...I have it on my Competitor single shot in 416 Barnes...several hundred rounds through it...no problems....less eye relief than my Bushnell elites, but I've never had a problem with it

I've had a 2x Nikon on my 44 Encore for a number of years and love it.

I've had my 2X Nikon on a BFR in 480 Ruger for 3 years with no problems.

Which one do you have, the 2x fixed or 2.5-8x variable?

I've used Nikons exclusively on all my handguns. Haven't had a problem with one yet, even on my heavy kickers. The BDC reticles are pretty handy for compensating longer range shots if you take the time to set them up.

I have a 2.5 x 8x Nikon force xr I have not experienced any problems with my scope. Very well constructed to! I have my scope mounted on my FA .357. In opposition to what i have heard that the scope doesn't do good on heavy recoil guns. So for so good for me!

I was interested in the Nikon buckmaster in the 4.5-14(40) and the monarch in the 4-16 but was told not to worry about it. I came across the Bushnell Elite 3200 in the 5-15(40). Im not sure which is a better. Both of which are at great prices which gained my attention. Can anyone resolve my problem.

Tough decision. I think I would buy the one that seemed the most clear edge to edge. I have both types and have no complaints on either.

I have used Nikon's FORCE XR 2-8 BDC for 4-5 years with great success. 1 on a Redhawk and 1 on a T/C .308. The 44 is so much more fun to shoot but the .308 will get the job done! Dialing in my handgun with Spot On really helps too. Nikon just came out with a SuperDot Red Dot sight I'd love to put on my Desert Eagle. That monster is more accurate and easier to shoot than the Redhawk.
