Basically, the primary difference is the frame extension that surrounds the first couple inches of barrel on the SRH, that also serves as scope mounting platform.

Also the grip frames are different. The Redhawk has a grip frame similar to a single action revolver with panels on the sides. The SRH has a grip "stud" similar to the GP100.

The overall size is the same and cylinders can interchange between them.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

Thank you....that is exactly the info I was looking for. I?ve always had Blackhawks, and was thinking of something different. Been looking at the standard Redhawk. I?ve read the single action trigger pull on a Redhawk was not as good as a black hawk, or as easy to lighten up. Any truth to this?

Springs are quite different as well as the grip frame.

Scope ring set up is barrel mounted on RedHawk and frame on super

If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

I have a older Redhawk with a 5.5 inch barrel. It does not have the scope mount on the barrel so I had the top of the frame drilled and tapped for a mount. It is a great gun. I have used it to kill six whitetails from five yards to seventy five yards out.
