I thought I posted this but didn?t see it. Sorry for the repeat if it pops up twice.

Does anyone have any crono numbers for the Hornady mono flex or full boar in 3030 win 140 gr from a TC? Or comparable data?

Thanks,

I didn't shoot the 30-30 specific mono bullets, but the other version for the faster cartridge and my contendeder. I got them to slightly over 2100 fps with ok groups In testing. The hornady 140 gn reduced recoil loads (don't remember if it was mono or other)clocked out at 2100fps too, Similar to what I could drive the barnes 150gn flat nose with warm hand loads. I doubt there is factory ammo that will get you much past the 2150fps range in a 14" barrel. Pay close attention to the minimum recommended terminal velocity for the bullet. Max range with the barnes 150 gn flat nose was about 150 yards. If you reload I would recommend looking at the the 120 gn tac-ttsx black tipped bullet designed form 300 blackout. Great terminal performance at 30-30 handgun velocities.

I am loading the Barnes 110 gr black tipped bullet designed for the 300 Blackout with 29.5 grans of Reloader #7 and getting 2308 fps. My Sweet 14 contender is ported and shoots three of these into less than 0.5 inches at fifty yards. Karl put me on to this. I hope to write this up in a couple of weeks. I also tested this bullet and load for expansion and it looks really good.

July 2015 I tested the Hornady 140 grain Mono Flex factory load, 5 shot average out of my TC with 30-30 14" barrel was 2086 fps.
