I have withdrawals after turkey season. Of course shooting yotes but designated handgun hunts are on my mind. I already heard that I didn't get one of tags I applied for. More draws to come. If I don't get drawn always have deer. Going to try to concentrate on the 480 this year with the Speer 325grs and with old faithful .45 Blackhawk.

I hope to get out this year (better health) after deer, elk, and 'lopes.

Really want to take a black Bear this year. I?m a bit gun poor right now and will have to figure if it?s doable on the cheap.

Redemption from last year's deer season and the annual trip to Salt Creek in Ohio...personal goal as always, No more than 2 shots fired/needed, irregardless of the size of the animal

Russians at the wilderness with tracker in October, fallow hunt with James at Tioga, I get one week here for deer, then off to coshocon county outfitters in ohio for whitetail, they have never had a handgun hunter there, lining the hunt up was like a job interview, sent some pics of past hunts, now I?m legit. Good luck to you all this season!

I put applications in for bull elk, cow elk, extra mule deer, buck antelope, two doe antelope, and whitetail doe tags in Wyoming.
Hope to make a trip to TX sometime in the fall or more likely winter/spring of 19, for some extra hunting as well.

Badubet, I guarantee you would have a blast, it?s the wilderness hunting lodge in PA, this will be our 4th year there.

I have my deer lease and that's about it for me this year. Oldest daughter starts college this fall so I feel blessed to stay on out there. Some day I really really want to start going out west for elk, muleys, antelope, etc.

Practice, practice, practice.

I got one turkey with the handgun, but the second one I shot got away. Bummed about that.

Just got a new G2 Contender set up in 22lr for the tree rats too.

I am looking into doing the same, and saw some ole boys pullin out a nice black bear from the Rapidan WMA ( Link ), they were using dogs though. I was thinking about a camping/hunting trip there, and try to get ahead of the dogs. Primitive camping with easy access to a trout stream. Just need to get away and do some scouting.

SAME'O, SAME'O THIS YEAR, YEAR ROUND PIG HUNTING AT THE HIGHPOINT AND DURING THE DEER SEASON MAYBE A MANAGEMENT BUCK AND/OR A DOE OR TWO. NO SPECIAL HUNTS BOOKED OR CONTEMPLATED.

MY SON AND I ALSO WANT TO DO A LOT MORE DUCK HUNTING THIS COMING SEASON (LAST SEASON HE DID VERY LITTLE AND I DID NONE).

Going to ND for prairie dogs end of June. Besides a slew of rifles will also use my 12" Encore in 223, plus S&W 22 Victory.

Going to Ely MN for black bear in Sept. Going to use my Ruger Guide gun in 338 RCM, only because I haven't had a chance to use it on anything. I took my last bear with a chopped SRH in 480.

For deer at home here in IL, plan on using 12" Encore in 44, and 5" custom SRH also in 44. at also use 9" Encore in 357.

My plans for the rest of 2018 are-hunting Georgia alligators in August, following the dogs at a south Georgia bear camp in September, going after a Colorado bull elk in October, then deer and bear on public land in the north Georgia mtns in November. Throw in some deer hunting on the back 40, and I have some plans this fall.

Will hunt the pigs and whitetail here in Alabama. One of these days I'd love to take a mule deer.

I am working on hunting hand loads for both my 30 30 and my 44 mag contender barrels to hunt whitetails here in North Carolina this season.

I hope to kill at least one deer with my CVA Optima V2 muzzleloader pistol and both contender barrels. It has been three seasons since I have killed a trophy buck and I would love to do that with one of my pistols this year.

Until our deer season opens here I will be practicing and having fun with my contenders.

I was a bit too cautious last season. Passed up a few perfect shots thinking I'd have more opportunities, but I ended the season without a single deer to my credit. I mean it, I'm focusing heavily on does this season, and I promise you my Optima and 460 will finally be used on more than just paper.

Don't forget Randy that you've gotta practice up for an Ohio hunt in March 😉

BESIDES SAME'O SAME'O, I HOPE TO DO THE BOVINE BASH IN HONDO, TX IN OCTOBER. I AM CHECKING WITH FURY BULLETS ABOUT A 400gr FMJFP "PENATRATOR" TYPE BULLET FOR USE IN MY NIMROD 475L. THE HEAVIEST NON-CAST "SOLID" TYPE BULLET I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO FIND IS THE LEHIGH 330gr, BUT WHY BOTHER AS I HAVE GOOD CHOICES AT 325grs FOR MY 45 COLTS/454's.

My plans for `18 are to find some new hunting ground in Georgia, Alabama or Florida. Both my current properties have been sold off and the new owners are not too enthusiastic on hunting. I'm not looking forward to hunting public land and dealing with the weekend wanna-be's. . .but my love of the sport well have me out there.
