I was out to the Range yesterday mowing and spraying when Mark Hampton and his wife arrived to do a little shooting. They had a few Bolt Action Specialty Pistols to work out. He had normal stuff like a full custom XP100. Looked like the only thing factory on it was the action.
I believe he was tuning up for a trip out to play with Ernie and the boys.
Mark had a new toy he was working with. This was the production model of something new that is not quite out yet. Apparently he had been working with the prototype previously. I was very impressed with it. It was well thought out, and accurate. Great Trigger. It felt very good in the hand. That is all I can say for now.
Keep an eye out for magazine articles my Mark Hampton in the next month. You are going to be impressed with this baby.

Sounds interesting. Always good to hear of new developments in the handgun hunting world.

Was it the Nosler 48?

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

I'm sure it was the NOSLER SP.
Mark is going to be shooting at the MOA benchrest shoot outside of Sundance, WY. Rich Mertz's match. It is a bench shoot (5-shot groups at 500, 750, and 1000 yards). It has three different classes.

My long-range handgun steel shoot and prairie dog shoot (WY-SHOT) is NW of Gillette, WY for handguns of all kinds. The steel shoot is at 5" and 10" steel (some targets larger for further targets), one-shot per target under time, and shooting from kneeling, sitting and prone positions. No bench or table.
We have four different classes/awards for the longest PD kills:
Carry Gun (iron sights only), Rimfire (22lr only), Field Specialty Pistol (bi-pod and rear field bag), and Open Class-Anything goes.
We have a group that attends both shoots.
Both are fun and challenging, it just depends what kind of shooting you want to do.

June 11th will be the day of official announcement. I'll post photos and specs at that time.
