Has anyone ever used Underwood Ammo?
Looking at them in a few different calibers. They seem to use good bullets ( hornady Barnes )

I've used their 200 grain hollow points in 10 mm. No complaints. Several deer and hogs with it.

I have used their 357 - 158 XTP HP @ 1500 fps to shoot a whitetail buck. One bullet passed completely through the ribs and the other came to rest in the neck after penetrating 18"+ quartering away. They shot 6-shot groups into almost one ragged hole.

I have used their 10mm - 200 XTP load in my Kimber 1911, although they shot accurately they were either way too hot for my pistol or they had soft primers. My Kimber has full case support and I didn't see any bulging at the case head, but the primers flowed so much that not only did they completely fill in the the gap between the primer and the top of the primer pocket, but the firing pin mark was almost flattened back out. Weird deal, I'll shoot the rest of them in my Ruger Buckeye with the 10mm cylinder.

Randy,

What gun were you shooting the 200 grain Underwood loads out of, if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks,

Eric

I shot some of the 10mm xtreme penetrator and defense bullets. Shot well on paper and velocities matched spec pretty well.
They do have a nice selection of loads.

Thanks,
I ended up ordering the 460 mag 240 grain. I don't know if anyone saw my other post about confidence in my 460 but I think this bullet will perform better then the FTX rounds. Just ordered 2 boxes to test accuracy at the range. I think the 460 with the 240 grain XTP can be a really good combination. Specially if they are accurate in their estimations of about 2000 fps.

Yes with many calibers, they use quality bullets and velocity displayed is accurate.

Yes, when I shot the 158 XTP 357 loads I beat their advertised 1500 fps in my 6" GP100.

I bought Underwood 10 mm with 180 grain XTPs and 200 grain lead TCFP. From a 4.5" Tanfoglio barrel, the XTPs chronoed as claimed, near 1250 fps. The 200s were disappointing, at about 970 fps. Maybe my barrel's throat is too loose to build full pressure with that bullet?
