I still can not believe this, I never got to meet him in person, but did some deals and chatted often. He was one of the good ones. Rest in peace my friend.

He was a good friend of mine. From what i gather his gun was loaded, with no safety, it fell and went off hitting him in the torso, and it passed through the liver. He died shortly after in his vehicle.

Still kind of shocked here as well, I will always remember how he helped me when I first joined SP.

Not to be morbid, and I certainly hope nobody takes this the wrong way, but do you know what kind of pistol he was carrying? I read the posts on the other board and the news clip just said a "custom" pistol......
Maybe now is a good time to remind EVERYONE......if you cock the hammer on a Contender (not G2) and let it down without firing it, you should ALWAYS open the action to reset the hammer.......if you don't, the hammer rests against the firing pin and the gun can discharge if something hits the hammer (or if you drop it)!!

I hope this isn't out of line here. Rich and I had a trade going for some cast bullets. I don't own a 45 and had 250 of these read to go for him. I have started a small short auction at SP. The funds will be sent to his wife. If you have been wanting to try some cast bullets there are pics of what I have ready to go and more details. I will take care of the freight to the lower 48. There are several calibers 45, 44, 375, 35 and 30. Jeff

Man This a shock. Rich even though he gave everybody a hard time, it was all in good fun. He would have given you the shirt off his back. I for one will miss him greatly. My deepest condolences to the family.
