I love this gun but the factory trigger was right at 4.5 lbs. SA. Not horrific but not great either. There are zero trigger spring kits available for this gun that I can find. However, I found a hammer rebound spring kit online but listed for K/L/N frames. So I ordered it thinking it was worth $10 for an experiment.

It came with 11-15 lb springs in the kit. I first installed the 14 and the gun functioned perfect with the SA pull dropping to 3 lbs. So then I tried the 13 lb and the gun still performs perfectly, and now has about. 2.7 lb SA pull.

My question...anyone see any problems with this or any reason why this would be unsafe?

The meat won't fry if the lead don't fly.

Why don't you email the spring maker, and ask them if the K/L/N kit is suitable for the big frame Smith?

No but i would just call jack huntington and ask. Man does the greatest trigger jobs ive ever seen and is an absolute master on the smiths. I dont see a problem per se and have some smiths from the factory with 2lb triggers and one is under 2lbs. Its crazy light and crisp and thought it was the best ever till i messed with jacks guns.
