Introducing my latest SSK knuckle buster arrived mid-week ? 15-inch barreled Encore w brake chambered in 416 Remington Magnum. Load development and sight-in followed on Saturday. I?ve centered my bullet choice on the Barnes 300 TSX although I have tried a few Barnes 350 TTSX for comparison.
Like my other big-bores this is very well balanced and weights in at 7.4 pounds. Early range results show excellent accuracy. Velocity with a segment of powders with the Barnes 300 TSX come in at the low end of 2137fs to 2549fs on the high end & max charge.
The fish gill brake really tames this tiger, recoil comes back into your hand Vs excessive muzzle rise.

More range work in the coming weeks as I setting in on a Pet-Load.

Pictured with the 100-yard target where I am walking in the scope.

That should do the job!
Bet it lets everyone at the range know when you set one off.

Very Nice. There is no such thing as killing something too dead.

LGS has 6-7 boxes of 416 RM factory with Barnes bullets, for 70% off the original $56.00 price tag. No one seems interested.

A little more juice than my SSK .416 Taylor, but looks the same. I've had an old style Simmons 2-7X on it for 16 years. Never a problem.
I happened to take mine out to the range yesterday. I put one 350 TSX, 350 Speer SP, 350 Northern Precision SP, 350 Kodiak FP, and one 400 gr. Horn. DGX all in 2" at 100. Hope yours does as well.
Now you need to kill something really big with it.

Nice- I like that rig. I have one just about like it in .460 S&W shooing 200grn Barnes XPB bullets. Good luck with your sight in and hunting.

Thanks for all of the kind words?
Doc for this year I?ll break it in on deer, now there are Black Angus across the road doubt that would score me any neighborly points? All in fun of course.
I shot this target yesterday evening 100 yards off the bench only difference was the powder and charge weight. All did really well velocity & accuracy for a big bore.
