Late this evening I looked out in the pasture East of the house, and about 200 yards out were three does eating grass. With the acorn crop I was surprised to see them eating grass in the field. A couple minutes later I looked again, and they were gone. I went to the patio door for a better look and spotted a pretty impressive buck with his nose down tracking the does. While I was watching him he went on alert away from me, and started walking East, then broke into a run over the rise and went out of sight going towards the wife's platform stand. I spotted a big buck running hard past her stand and figured it was the first buck, until I spotted him again at the base of the stand standing looking the way the other buck had went. That is encouraging to see.
Now if they stay chasing skirts for another month.
