Looking for advice. Have been hunting 30+ years. Have been hunting for 15 years with SBH. Have killed many deer, all one shot kills.10 yards all the way out to 98 yards. Thursday flat out missed nice buck at about 75 yards. Friday flat out missed a doe at 50 yards. Thinking maybe scope off. Decided to carry rifle today. Flat out missed again at 75 yards. Thinking eyes getting older, might be time for red dot. Not sure what going on.

I am in the same boat, I have not missed animals just can't see as well. Looking for help too. Maybe a low fixed power scope. Was using a red dot. Getting old is hell!! Still 20 something in my mind!

I need cheaters to read and see the front sight! I added a Burris Fastfire 3 to my Super Blackhawk for this year.

I have scoped handguns, but have no issues with the crosshairs.

Amen to that! A lot of us here can relate to those remarks.

TO THE OLD GUYS (LIKE ME @ 74): IT MAY NOT BE ALL YOUR EYES, IT MAY BE LACK OF PRACTICE. I STARTED SHOOTING MORE (AGAIN) LIKE I USED TO AND MY SHOOTING GOT BETTER (AGAIN).

"ADAPT OR DIE". I USE ALL CAPS, NOT BECAUSE I AM YELLING, BUT BECAUSE IT IS AN OLD HABIT FROM MY ARMY DAYS, PLUS IT IS EASIER TO TYPE AND READ.

I need glasses for distance. I find that using a rifle scope I need to look over my glasses and use bare eyes. When using a red dot I need to look thru my glasses to get a nice dot. Without them I get a big starfish. With a handgun scope I can use naked eyes or glasses. Go Figure.

I'm sort of in the same boat. Hunted with my Smith this morning and found it hard to see the sights and find deer at the same time. 8" steel on the range is definitely easier than the zone on that doe at 40 yards I targeted at 7 AM!

Just so you know ... I let her walk.

I used a Burris FastFire on my Encore for years. This year mounted iron sights. Couldn't see them. Shopped for fiber optics with no luck so I bought a tube red dot from AT3Tactical. Shot a hog at 40 yards last Saturday. Really like the new scope.
