I was wondering if any of the forum members had any experience with the Henry Long Ranger mag fed lever gun? I'm looking pretty hard at the 6.5cm offering. The online reviews/video's seem to show that it can be pretty accurate from the bench and that the balance is pretty good. I was just wondering if anyone here had personal experience they could share. I'm purging my gunsafe of some of the less appealing guns and though I might find room for one of these.

I handled a .243 locally. It looks good, I'm considering one but it'd be a 6.5 or .308. No particular need or reason.

Online reviews of the 308 keep saying the recoil pad works surprisingly well but it still doesn't sound like an afternoon of fun. I'm leaning 6.5 just to make it more fun at the range for a day of shooting. This would replace a bolt 25-06 that has never shot as well as I would like.

So I ended up bringing one home in 6.5cm back around labor day and got it out to the range for some fun. My initial impression is that it is a very nice gun and fun to shoot. The action is smooth but a little stiff with only 30 rounds down range. Fit and finish are nice. Balance is pretty good, but maybe a little bit front heavy with the longer barrel. It is pleasant to shoot with a mild recoil. I don't intend for it to be a range gun, but I could see putting a lot of rounds down range in an afternoon. I've only shot Federal American Eagle ammo through it so far, but was easily getting better than 1" groups at 100 yards with in the first box of ammo. I think it has the potential to be a great shooter with some good handloads which has me super excited.
