Just a quick note to thank all of you for the advice that helped me with my goal.
Last Sunday, I shot a 225 lb boar at 30 yards on a dead run. 1200 rds of practice payed off. Second generation contender, 13? MGM 44 mag barrel. Ultra dot sight. 270 gr Speer deep curl behind 16.5 grains of 2400. I?m guessing about 1350 FPS. Hit just behind the left shoulder, complete pass through. Hog ran about 30 yards, then tumbled, and it was time to take pictures.
You guys played a large part in helping me get one off the bucket list. We are going back after hogs next year, and hopefully I can tag a deer next fall with the contender also. Back to the loading bench to start preparing for next year.
