I have been using a SOG OPCON messenger bag to carry my scoped 460 XVR. Its basically a padded briefcase for a 17 inch laptop computer. It works well for the big revolver and has additional pockets for ammo and tools etc. Its does not look like a gun case and is great for discreet transport in public. There are lots of laptop cases out there. I just wanted to share the idea with you guys.

I use a Samsonite briefcase picked up at a thrift store. It is hard shelled and I just had to add some foam to the bottom and it was good to go. Very discreet way to carry and protect my gun. My son and I also converted a plastic, fitted drill box for carry. Cut and removed the form fitted interior and added some foam and you have a very serviceable box. Add some paint [people steal drills and tools] stencil something non tool or gun related on the top [nuts, bolts, grease, oil and your ready. Get used to looking at everyday things with a different eye,how can I convert ,use that to my advantage for discrete carry of my guns or ammo and you will start to see possibility's in everyday things.

Boyt Harness makes a 10" X 21" (Contender Case) that works pretty well. I have three of these. They come in Green and Black. I like the Green color myself which Midway no longer carries. Add D Rings and a shoulder strap, and they work great for field carry.

Just to clarify. I use the Messenger bag as a transporting case.
While in the field I carry it on a 2 point sling arraingement with 1 sling point attached to the grip screw on the bottom of the grip and the other point attached to a picatinny lug on the scope base.

My cases are used for discrete transport, protection. In the field I sling my guns or they go into an Uncle Mikes # 13 nylon holster attached to the side of my backpack.I use a 38 inch Plano for short rifles and to carry my silhouette pistols. I can fit 3 or 4 big pistols into this case at a time. In my sons converted drill box you can carry two Contenders and no one knows, because it does not look like a gun case. If it says nuts and bolts no one looks twice, adaptive camouflage works.
