I have a Kimber Raptor in the commander 4" version. I am thinking about getting the .460 Rowland conversion for it. I got the conversion for my 5" Kimber Warrior, and love it. But I can't find any real world feedback for the shorter bbl. Any feedback from you guys?

If it were supposed to be easy, they'd have sent my little sister to do it.

Rowland site shows them

I realize you asked for actual experience, sorry none to offer

It's ok. I saw the listing on the sight, and that got me to wondering...and asking around. There seems to be little anecdotal evidence out there at this time. I think Im just going to leave the Raptor as it is, my little town gun, seeing that I already have a 5" .460

I would be worried about the shorter lighter slide beating itself to death. Was just talking to a local gunsmith buddy of mine about having him build me a 1911 from the ground up. He only recommended a 5" slide sized gun. Said he had two smaller framed commander size guns come apart after a few hundred rounds.

Thank you! That was exactly the kind of real-world feed back I was hoping for.

That's the beauty of this forum. I've been hunting with handguns exclusively for 35 years and I still learn new stuff just about every time I log on hear.
