Last week my new 10" .357 Magnum barrel from MGM arrived. The tube is Full Bull and threaded for a 6 hole base. The idea was to have a short, hefty, and handy barrel - something easy to maneuver in a climbing stand 25 feet up. I got exactly that as the gun has great feel and balance. Why .357? ... because I didnt have one and everyone should!

I did the break-in per MGM's instructions and sighted the gun yesterday. 14.5 grains of 2400 under a 158 Grain XTP yielded very good accuracy. The load came in at an average of 1513 FPS from the 10" tube. While I'll probably experiment with some different bullets based on my other thread, this load will be a keeper. Recoil is light, but has enough thump to let you know there's horsepower under the hood. Overall, I like it and feel this combination can be "Whitetail Nightmare" here in SW Alabama.

This picture gives you as good a representation as I can of the SeeAllNite reticle. The sight is tritium lit and the reticle does glow in total darkness. I've had this sight for a couple of years. Initially it was going on my Glock20, but that never panned out. It's been waiting on a donor and now has a home.

The sight isnt for everyone. Some would flat-out hate the thing, but it works for me and I like it. RMR size, no batteries, low light capable, and accurate. Put what needs shooting on the top of the vertical post and squeeze the trigger. One cannot see the whole target (like iron sights), but the thing just works and is well built and tough. I'd also add that the sight comes well-packaged and with everything needed to install and adjust the W&E.

So there you go ... a basic review of my new MGM barrel and SeeAllNite sight.

I know nothing about that sight, but I like the MGM barrels. Looks like a fun setup. I'm not a fan of the 357 myself, but it certainly has it's place. For what you're doing in a tree stand, it oughta be perfect! Great idea!!

I know nothing about that sight but I love the 357 mag. I got a CVA Scout pistol in 3 tyee 7 mag for Christmas. It has a 14 inch barrel and a Bushnell 2 x 6 scope on it. I have been working on hand loads for it with good results. It will send a 158 grain xtp as fast as 2050 fps. I have one factory load shooting good groups at 1900 fps. You made a food choice.

That looks nice, both the gun and the sight.

You have really peaked my interest with that sight. I'm seriously thinking of ordering one after reviewing their website. I love my RMR but this looks like it would be a great alternative for another gun I have on order.

I have the Gen1 version as well as this one. I actually had the Gen1 mounted on my Glock20 when I took a nice 11 Point a few years back. That sight has the Delta reticle and the Gen2 was to replace it, but I traded that gun. The SeeAll is its own animal - not a RMR and not Irons. Lastly, the reticle does present larger than the picture ... I took the photo at a distance I could get get focus on the lens.

I love the fact there are no batteries and if I had my preference, I'd still be hunting with iron sights. I'm torn on this one. The RMR 1MOA is nothing short of awesome. I wish someone close to me had one on a hunting handgun. I'd like to see what the sight picture looks like beyond 100 yards.

Think you will enjoy this for your intended purpose. I ordered a 9" 357 from MGM last year. I didn't get around to loading for it, but it loves Barne's 140 grain factory load.

Here is a button buck I shot with it last year. Full frontal shot and he ran about 25 or 30 yards with a huge blood trail. Good luck with your 357.

Very nice set up. The 357 Mag is a very underrated hunting round. I think you'll love that combo! My Contender with a 10" 357 Max barrel balances perfectly and handles so well.

I like the set up as well. That sight is intriguing. I think I will get one of the originals to try out on my shotgun.

Update- Just ordered the MK1 Delta, and I may just put it on my blued 44 mag Encore that looks like yours.

Your 10" 44 Barrel was one I used for reference as to what this gun would look like. The delta will look large on the Gen1 at arms length, but I shot good groups with it. Dont trash it until the learning curve of using it takes hold.

That's right, I remember now. Seems as if you've returned the favor with the sight.

From the videos I've watched, and the reviews I've read, I believe I'm going to love this sight.

Thanks for the advice.
