Knowing it would be impossible for me to hunt tahr in New Zealand, I took this one back in the day at a SCI YO Ranch hunt in Texas. I don`t know how you would score one but it looks pretty decent.. My right hand holds my ever faithful Freedom Arms 454.

Yea. I?m finding bizarre animals on my game cam. The last was a Blackbuck doe. I was thinking it was a strange fawn due to the pic being a little grainy. Texas is a whole other country!

Very nice James. Great trophy regardless the country. You are as lethal as they come.

Interesting enough, I had a huge aoudad show up on my game camera about a year ago. He was there two straight hunts and then never again. I would love for him to surface again.

Very nice trophy James, did you use those "3 step bullets" I always tease you about? Well done, you like to keep those barrels warm year around.

As a Texan, and someone who grew up just a few miles from the YO (depending on when you shot that animal, my sister may have been working there when you did)... I?d have to say you were in the right place!

A now deceased friend of mine killed a very nice Tahr at the YO.
When congratulations were being handed out at the Smokehouse, someone commented that it was much cheaper than getting a Tahr in New Zealand. My friend replied that once they are on the wall it is hard to tell where they came from.

Very nice, James! I shot my Tahr on the South Island of New Zealand, but hunters could not use handguns there.

the coat on that bugger looks very plush!

I know seeing all of your exploits with your 454 over the years is one of the things that inspired me to get one of my own!
