While at the Tulsa Gun Show this last weekend I traded my 6mm Bullberry Improved Contender Barrel for a 15" 1 in 10 twist 221 Fire Ball MGM SS Encore Barrel. Ed's Contenders is the new owner of my 6 Bullberry Improved barrel and Die Set.

I started to install a Bullberry Hanger Bar I had on hand a while ago and made a discovery. This barrel has 3.5" forend screw spacing. I believe that is Carbine Forend Screw Spacing. I believe it also is threaded for the Toy Size forend screws.
This may bring on a trip to Bullberry to get it set up for the BullBerry Hanger Bar System. He cuts Dove Tails, and will install the correct Hanger Bar for the .810 Barrel. My other Three Barrels are all 1" Full Bull.
I am looking forward to seeing how it will shoot.

You'll love it. It'll probably be the sweetest shooting Encore setup you have.
Plus, with that twist rate, you'll likely be able to run cheap, bulk 55 grain 5.56 bullets for economical practice.

I woulda hated loosing the bullberry but that 221 should be real fun.

KYODE I probably will run a rifle scope.
I have the Weaver Classic Extreme 2.5-10 x 50mm's on my 260 and 7.62x54R, and a third one waiting on my 356 Winchester barrel to arrive from MGM.
I have a 20X Super Sniper that is not mounted on anything at the moment. I may put it on to start with.

The 6 Bullberry Improved was a little more trouble to form cases for than I cared to work with.

I e-mailed Andy at MGM. He told me to send it in with return shipping paid, and they would change it to pillars for the Bullberry hanger Bar system.

I also did a little checking on 221 Fireball Brass. Looking like Lapua and Hornady at around $85 - $90 shipped per 100 are the main choices at the moment. Andy told me a rechamber to 223 Remington, and remarking the barrel like it came that way would be $100. I have 5 gallon buckets of 223, along with a few bags of Winchester brass.

I am shipping it off to MGM Monday. It will be a 223 with 1 in 10 twist when I get it back. I will include a couple dummy rounds. I think one will be a 55 seated longer than normal, and a Sierra 69 SMK. The 69 SMK might just stabilize in a 1 in 10 barrel. If the 69's will shoot in it, so much the better.
