This has probably been asked before, but I thought I would ask again. Which Chronograph have you had good luck with?
Anyone using a Magnetospeed?

I have a Shooting Chrony F-1 and I have messed with it a number of times and I do not trust it. I get errors, and when I get readings, they are so erratic and variable that I don't trust them.

I've used the Oehler 35P for several years now. No complaints and gives me a TON of info.

Caldwell. Works perfect.

Saving up for a LabRadar. Have used a friends and it was very accurate and is not affected by the elements as much as a standard Chrono with sunscreens etc. Have also heard good things about the Magnetospeed V3 but not such good things about the sporter model.

My 2 Cents

I too have an Oehler 35P, but I want to get something that is more compact and easy to transport and set up.

Have the CHRONY and it works nearly perfect and tells me what i want to know.....the speed.

How far away you shoot over it? Needs to be about 15? from the muzzle to get good readings.

Been using an Oehler 35P for over 30 years. Replaced old screens with newer/improved version. Works like a charm even if it does take a bit to set-up.

My chrony is handy as a pocket on a shirt and fairly easy to setup But that lab radar is appealing if you want to check what is going on down range. Also it is handy and quick. My children bought me my chrony as a gift and so no complaints.

Nothing fancy, just a Prochrono Digital.

Yeah I would set it at roughly about 12-15'. If I don't get error codes, I will get a couple readings that seem legit and then they start getting weird. I am talking 200 FPS differences.

thanks for your inputs!

I like the idea of the Labradar, but don't think I could justify the price right now.

I have a Magnetospeed and find it very hassle free to use.

I've the Pact, ProChrono, 35P and LabRadar.

The LabRadar was purchased last November and is unused at this time. I just figured the older I get the less I like to be aggravated beyond endurance, or even a little bit.

As I told my wife, "Ain't leavin' the kids all my money when a few grand here and there may extend my life an extra decade or two."

Pa. Mike,

Do you have the V3 or the Sporter? I was wondering if they are equally up to taking the muzzle blast of a 454

Lone Eagle, sounds like you have had some frustration with chronographs as well! hope you like the LabRadar
