Probably a long shot here. But, awhile back I ordered some Starline black oxide brass from Midsouth Shooters Supply. They are out and no backorders. I need some.

Anyone?

ARE THEY SAFE TO BREATHE?

"ADAPT OR DIE". I USE ALL CAPS, NOT BECAUSE I AM YELLING, BUT BECAUSE IT IS AN OLD HABIT FROM MY ARMY DAYS, PLUS IT IS EASIER TO TYPE AND READ.

I emailed Starline about them. They said it was something Midsouth did on their own as a limited run. Basically they took factory brass cases and coated them with black oxide. I liked the look and ordered some. Now they are gone.

"Big Swede says he gonna marry you".

I think the brass looks cool, but I think a blaze orange or chartreuse would be cool for any of the auto loader brass.

MidSouth had quite bit of this oxide brass about a year ago.

A silhouette shooter friend of mine ordered a couple hund in 41mag.

He didn't care too much for it.. Had an issue cleaning/tumbling it.

l also saw some on the net for sale from a seller that has

pulled brass and bullets from ammo companies.

l do recall one company selling loaded ammo with black oxide brass.

They claimed it would not tarnish and fed better in magazines

because It was slicker

I think Birchwood Casey from Brownells makes brass blackening

liquid in a bottle..

l seem to remember Winchester using black oxide components in

their Black Talon brand ammo
