Found this photo taken over 25 years ago at Freedom Arms, WY when I ordered my first of their handguns in 454. The pretty lady was a sweetie named Susie Taylor who handled my order information. She was so good that she talked me into a brass bead/V notch rear sight assembly. The gun was an early model that I had to send back to have the firing pin drilled and tapped for their removable bushing. How long have you guys had your 454`s???....

Awesome photo James. That 454 could write a book, I bet.

Mc #7 shooters choice to get it out and then eezox to keep it from coming back.
edit for more detail- developed copper colored streaks between the lands at the muzzle on my 30-30 barrel after a few hundred rounds. Cleaned well with copper cleaner and then applied/cleaned with Eezox and they haven't returned after a thousand+ rounds.

"ADAPT OR DIE". I USE ALL CAPS, NOT BECAUSE I AM YELLING, BUT BECAUSE IT IS AN OLD HABIT FROM MY ARMY DAYS, PLUS IT IS EASIER TO TYPE AND READ.

I've had good luck with BoreTech Eliminator for copper fouling.

YES!
That is cool that you ordered it on the spot from the source. I have been to their shop twice, and met Bob Baker. Good folks!

When I was thoroughly cleaning my granddad's Weatherby, I plugged the bore, filled it with Hoppe's Benchrest Copper Solvent cleaner, and left it to soak overnight. Worked like a charm.

As written above , Bore Tech Eliminator and they also market a stronger version for heavy copper build up. No strong odor and works as advertised from what I have found.

I have been using CR-10 to remove copper with good results. You just have to remember to follow up with a solvent like hoppes #9 after you get the copper out.
