I?d like to try the Bisley grips for my new BFR based on the recommendation of Whitworth and Tradmark. However, I really don?t want to spend $160 on the ones from Magnum Research without knowing for sure if I like them.
Does anyone know if replacement grips for a Ruger SBH will fit? About a 1/3 of the cost.
Thanks.

Hey Randy. I'm not sure what you want to do, but if you want to try a BFR Bisley gripframe and grips on your BFR, I'll send you my BFR Bisley gripframe and grips to try. Try them for a week and send them back. Interested?

Thank you very much for the offer, but I'll pass.

$160.00 is a pittance when you consider what you are getting. Custom grips will cost you more than double that on the very low side. The Ruger Bisley is a completely different animal and there is no interchangeability.
Maybe you should try one of our Bisley equipped BFRs before making the decision.

I wanna try a BFR.
I don't know of any local to me. I know my way around a Ruger Super Blackhawk grip, but aren't the BFRs standard grip subtly different?
You guys rave on the BFR Bisley, but I would need to handle one to get past the banana look.

The grip frame and panels fitted to your gun is $389.00. It's worth every penny in my estimation.

I know they're unusual looking, buy when recoil gets to abusive levels, this grip frame flat-out works better than anything else I've used out of the box. The only better option is Huntington's grip modification to the standard plow-handle and the custom grips that come with it.

So to summarize, the shootability of BFR grips is: Huntington extended plow handle BFR Bisley BFR plow handle How big is the difference between the Huntington mod and the bisley configuration?

The BFR Bisley-style gets my vote. Why? Because any manufacturer who listens to their customers as well as BFR does, deserves to get the money from me!!! They adapted to my demands for a Bisley version and I will go with my action in paying for it as the tribute. Heavy recoil will be handled well or better by the BFR Bisley and that is just IMHO!!!

The BFR Bisley was loosely based on Huntington's re-shaped BFR grip. I too think the BFR "Bisley" is the best factory offering available.
