I have a Ruger Bisley 45 Colt, 5 1/2 inch barrel. I just put on a Bowen Rough Rider rear sight, very nice. They claim it is the strongest screwed down to the bottom. With the standard blade front sight I am hitting about 3" low at 25yds with the rear sight mid height and used 250gr XTP at 1200fps. I really want to put a fiber optic front sight on this for hunting but have been told that the HiViz for the ruger blackhawk is not tall enough. That being said, as I am hitting low, and I can still lower my rear sight a bit, I am under the impression that my stock front sight is actually too tall. Ideally I would have a front sight base like freedom arms installed where I can easily change sight blades but I am not sure who can do this and get it back to me in a reasonable time frame. I may just try the HiViz front blade but would like a fall back idea. Any input would be appreciated.

If you decide you need a taller fiber optic front sight, I make one for the pinned Ruger single actions. You can PM me for details. I have them in both red or green.

Contact Gary Reeder about installing you a Freedom Arms Front sight. Turn around time may be quicker than you think.

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

Obviously, if you're hitting low as you describe, you need a lower front sight. Do you have a stainless gun with a pinned front blade, or a blued gun with the blade integral with the base? If the latter, the blade will need milled off, with a lower blade fitted, drilled and pinned, if you are going to use a fiber optic.
As KRal suggests, Gary Reeder can mount an FA base. Call them.

Sixshots front sight with FO, is a very nice upgrade, the green is visible well into darkness or low light
