I have been wide open for the last couiple of weeks. I was at work Saturday morning and had the TV on in my office (yeah tough day. LOL) and Ruger's hunting show was on. I was impressed that the entire show was on a handgun hunt in TX, not the usual 5 min handgun hunt

I did not see it, but that's great to hear. I'll bet it was neat to watch.

I caught it last night, not bad.

I wish the whitetails in N.Y. acted like that, I would get a nice buck every year.

New York as well as New England whitetails don't act like that. That is why they couldn't make a show like that where most of us hunt.

Yep, saw it. Ole Ken Jorgensen pimpin for Ruger these days I see. How long has he been with them? Last I knew he was working for S&W.

Low pressure makes them that way. A buddy of mine is in a trophy club and small bucks (spikes up to 6 points, even smaller 8's) walk around like does, fearless. If it is the same show I saw, the hunt was at the sanctuary in Michigan. Like somebody told me when I started hunting, "You can't kill a trophy buck if there isn't a trophy buck there." Moral of the story: Let the small bucks walk if you want to kill a big'un.

But if you are wanting to be eating vin in June and July , you better blast away.
