I love my Freedom arms single actions. Recently I picked up a Ruger Blackhawk in 10mm/40 S&W because I got a few cases of 40 S&W ammo for about the price of good .22LR and I already had a case of 10mm and have enjoyed plinking with it. More recently I bought a new Bisley 45Colt/45ACP 5.5" and really like it. I put on a Bowen rear sight and really enjoy shooting 45 Super out of it. More power than standard 45 Colt, easier to handle than the typical 45 Colt +P ( I don't reload ) and overall cheaper than either one. Well, today I went into my local gun shop and there was a guy putting a Ruger Bisley Super Blackhawk on consignment. It was shipped to Hamilton Bowen about 18 years ago, had the barrel cut to 5.5", beautiful re-bluing ( looks like a Colt Python ), beautiful action tune and tighten, custom front and rear sights that are amazing. It never made it to the shelf and I now have my first 44mag. My 45Colt/45ACP will be sent for the Perfect Package for sure. Maybe I do need a full on custom one of these days.

All of my customs have been on double actions. I had a trigger job and adjustable sights put on a 3" SP101 by MagNaPort, before Ruger started offering a model with adjustable sights. I bought a Redhawk that had been cut to 4" and engraved. I had a 480 SRH cut down to 4.75" by Bayside Custom. I sold them and currently have a keeper Super Redhawk in 44 magnum. It has had the "480 Package" by MagNaPort, and has been chopped to 5". It wears a 30mm UltraDot and shoots like a dream.

We definitely need some pictures amigo. Congrats on the deal. I have one custom, a Redhawk by Dave Clements, and agree there is something special about a custom revolver.

But for the grace of God, there, I go.
