Saw this news on another web site. I don't live there but is good news for handgun hunters.

DOVER, DE—The Delaware Division of Fish and Wildlife (DFW) announced last week that the state's first-ever handgun season for white-tailed deer will open on January 7 and run through January 14.

That is good news! Hopefully this will spread and generate more interest in hunting with handguns.

i live very close to delaware and all the hunters i know are very excited about it. de has always been shotgun only so this will add more choice. they are limited to straight wall cased rounds, but they don't seem to mind. couple of gunshops i visit in de regularly say they've sold lots of new revolvers of various makes as well as t/c handguns in stright wall rounds. this is a special season, but everyone hopes they will eventually be allowed during shotgun season in the future as well. cross your fingers!!

I have been sending letters to MD for a few years now. I want them to make a state wide handgun hunting deer seasonseason and in shotgun olny counties let people use stright walled cases along with the 45-70, 357 herrett and 444 marlin. I want them to make it last week of OCT and first week of NOV. this would put it close to the rut amd be good for us handgun hunters, and also let us use the handgun during the firearm season as well like you can use a bow or muzzleloader.
If you would send letters something like that it would help us all. They could even sell a stamp like they do with bow and muzzleloaders
