357 Sig. I haven't got to test it much yet but it is accurate and the 125gr Bonded bullets are penetrating great and expanding. 70 to 85 hour weeks aren't letting me do much. The Underwood ammo load is running nearly 1600fps from the 6" barrel.

That's outstanding! Congrats on a great build.

REFLEX:THE 357 SIG IS A LOT BETTER ROUND THAN ITS COMMERCIAL ACCEPTANCE WOULD INDICATE. LOOKS LIKE YOU GOT THIS AUTO SET UP FOR HUNTING, PLEASE KEEP US POSTED ON ANY KILLS.

Yep I plan on killing a few deer with it. That 125gr bonded bullet is penetrating and expanding out of proportion to its paper ballistics.

\\ Shot into barely damp magazines and held together.

I have a Sig .357 Sig that matches my daughter's (she a VA Trooper). I've taken 5 deer with it out to 60 yds. Used 125 gr. Gold Dots. Each deer took 2-3 shots, but most of them were alert, which makes it harder to stop them. Probably will try 147 gr. XTPs next. I doubt if casts would do any better.
Deer are tougher than you'd normally think, especially when they're stoked with adrenalin.

I've killed quite a few deer and hogs with a .357 sig and 125gr gold dot factory loads. It has never been lacking....

I tested some 357 SIG handloads a few years back using actual .357" Hornady XTP bullets (125gr, 140gr, 158gr) with some quite impressive results.

I had thought about trying the 158 a frame if I ventured into hunting with one.

I have't even bought a set of dies for this one yet. I can't disclose details but I will be testing a load that is intended for hunting. Hopefully this weekend I can experiment with it vs some control loads to see how it stacks up. If I give it the green light it is going to the woods.
