Reconsider..stick with jacketed My suggestion as well. If you haven?t tried them yet, give Speer Deep Curls a try. If you do decide on going cast, I?d suggest looking at a hollow point.
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

In agreement with Franchise and KRal. 357 is a bit small caliber wise for the flat meplat of a hard cast bullet to have much terminal performance. Stick with a decent expanding and you should do fine.

158 gr. Sierra JHCs over 16.0 gr. WW296 has served me well for 40+ years. Have done 1 shot kills on at least 6 WV 170-180# 8 points and countless does with it out to 75 yds. Never saw a reason to experiment more.

SOLID CAST BULLETS IN A 357 ON DEER IS A GOOD WAY TO LOSE ANIMALS, STICK WITH GOOD EXPANDING JACKETED BULLETS. PLUS YOU WILL BE TEMPTED TO DRIVE THE CAST BULLETS TOO FAST, A RECIPE FOR FAILURE.
"ADAPT OR DIE". I USE ALL CAPS, NOT BECAUSE I AM YELLING, BUT BECAUSE IT IS AN OLD HABIT FROM MY ARMY DAYS, PLUS IT IS EASIER TO TYPE AND READ.

This has been some very good advice !!!! Yes Stay with the Jacketed bullets. Keep velocity up there, with 158gr pills.

I would probably wind a Hornady 158XTP-FP up as fast as it would go and not mess with cast except for plinking or practice. This comes from someone who shoots several thousand cast bullets a year. Cast bullets work fine in bigger calibers such as my 480 Ruger.
I have a NOE 360-180 mold with a couple different sizer dies. My plan was to use them in one of my 357 Maximum Barrels. I gave that plan up pretty quickly and went back to Hornady 180XTP's.
If cast 357's are soft enough to expand, they will probably lead if you wind them up to hunting velocity. If they are hard enough to not lead, you will not be impressed with their performance on game animals. If you were running a single shot instead of a revolver you might try a 158 gr. Fury Spiral Point.

As much as I hate jacketed bullets, in a .357 used on small to medium sized , thin-skinned, non-dangerous game....go jackets. If bigger game or potentially dangerous.....go larger caliber cast! JMO. memtb

The .357 can and will definitely benefit from expansion...don't take that away.
