I just shot a pig on the way to my stand. She was about 30 yds facing me at the shot. 454 casull with 300gr Aframe at 1600fps. When I get in this evening I will recover the bullet and see what we have.

I?d be upset if I recovered an AF after a 30yd shot at a pig.
I took one Tuesday on a 80yd shot, with a 45colt and watched it impact down the road after exiting. Granted it was a quartering to me shot, but still about 24? of pig to go thru.
300gr AF at 1200fps.

Well, I wasn't able to recover the bullet but not because it traversed the whole length of the pig. It went through the skull near the right eye, through the spine, and into the brisket. It broke a rib going through the brisket but I never could find any evidence of where it entered the guts. Didn't hit heart, lungs, or liver. I sure would have liked to have found the bullet.

So it penetrated all that bone and kept going, that?s a pretty good test..
