I started during the middle of September chasing an Axis buck on a ranch I hunt SW of OKC. Spent 3 days down there literally daylight til dark lookin for a nice Axis buck the owner said was hanging around in section of his ranch. I walked, glassed, bounced along in a feed truck, a sit in various stands, nada. Told the cowboy who was assigned to me as my 'guide' I was headed home and for him to call me after the colder weather showed up and the leaves dropped. Monday he called and asked if I was ready to give it another try. Got there Wednesday afternoon and spent the afternoon driving and glassing, again no sighting. Told Denny I'd meet him Thursday morning at 5:30 and ride his feed route with him. I did and off we went. Fed the first pasture, nothing. Entering the 2nd pasture I had Denny drop me off at the head of a dry wash that run through this pasture separating a couple of brushing, cedar ridges. I sat up against a cedar tree where I could watch the clearing between the wash and the west ridge, Denny drove on off to make his feed route. Maybe 15-20 minutes later I could hear the feed truck rattling and bouncing along the two track on the back side of the ridge. 1, 2, 3, then 4 does ease out of the cedars and into the edge of the clearing about a 100yds off, 5 and then there he stands. Contender on the sticks, drop the hammer and send a 6.8spc 115gr Speer Gold Dot pushed by 28.2 grs H322 down range for a high shoulder shot. Bang, flop and about a 5yds push to make the cedars and it's over.

Way to go! Unfortunately I can't see the picture as I don't have Facebook.

Glad you were able to get an axis. They are a beautiful animal
