I know they are smaller .355" in dia. Just wondering if anybody has tried them in 357Max? It would give us more bullet choices.

I'll never for the life of me figure out why they wanted to create a 35 caliber rifle cartridge in .355"/9mm diameter as opposed to one that could use tried and true .357" and .358" bullets.

I haven't tried them, but a bunch of guys have...you can use them, check accuracy, and decide if you like them...they are discussing this now on Reeder's forum (well using the different bullets)

A dying attempt to make it. Same with their 325 wsm. At least the 325 wsm was a good thought/round.

Oddly enough if you listen/watch videos or podcasts on the subject they list it as .357 caliber. When American Hunter reviewed it they did the same thing.

Not 100% sure but I think they are trying to present it as the larger caliber because they took themselves out of the market in some straight wall cartridge states that require the round to be .357 caliber or larger.

Curious to see how long it will be around and how effective it really is on game. I'm interested in it but not enough to buy one just yet.

I just picked up an AR barrel in 350 Legend. May try it over the 300 BO.

When it came out my initial feeling was to stay with the tried and true Max. After reading this I believe I was initially correct. I have some of the Furry Custom bullets I am trying out and early loads indicate they have potential. They make 158, 170, and 180 pointy .358 bullets for the Max. So I am going to see what I can do with them.

Looks like an under powered attempt to imitate the old .35 Remington in a straight wall cartridge. As Elmer Keith used to say: "What the Hell good is it?". Speer already makes a very fine 180 spire point bullet in the correct diameter. Just MHO.

The SAAMI cartridge drawing For the .350 Legend shows the bullet diameter as 0.357?. Their drawing for the .35 Remington shows bullet diameter as 0.359?.

?What the hell good is it?? Well, you can?t hunt game in certain states with the .35 Remington, but you can with the 350. You can?t chamber an AR in .35 Remington, but you can in the .350. Just because you can?t see value doesn?t mean others can?t. BTW, I?ll be keeping my .35s thank you.

Read that mike bellm says ,357? bullets are just fine in it. Shud be an ok thing in some guns. Id way prefer it over a 450 bushmaster.

Agreed Kyode. If .357 slugs shoot well, it'll make a dandy brush carbine. We all love the Maximum for It's performance in game.

Sawfish, the target audience for this new round is definitely not us! It's designed for a semi-auto carbine and should be pretty awesome in that platform. If designed for .355\9mm bullets, that tells me that the "tactical" folks at Winchester won out. There are great 9mm bullets available, it's just not necessarily how we would have done it for sure. But, anything that keeps the Sweet 35 alive is a good thing!

as for the try again thing......im gonna guess the round is so new there are not many on this site that have shot .355s in their max yet. I would think the better choice would be to use .357 or .358? in it anyway.
In opposition, i would think there would be more interest in using the .357? bullets in the Legend because of More choices suitable to 4 leg critters, rather than 2 leg.

But, good luck and maybe someone has????
