Setting in my tree stand as I type this post. Trusty BFR Bisley 475 Linebaugh by my side. Mighty chilly morning in eastern Nebraska. 18 degrees but felt like 12 according to my cell phone.

Saw one doe and fawn at 30 yards around 9am. Could have made my first kill with a handgun. Passed on the doe in the hopes she would continue on the trail to my future son in-law. No such luck.

Just glad I can still get out and enjoy what god put for us to enjoy. Wind rustling leaves, the engine of a small airplane passing over and Canada geese flying the Platte River.

What a beautiful day.

It is usually the small things that make our day the richest. Leaves in the wind , wild geese in the sky's, the sights and sounds of peace and nature. It really doesn't take much to make us happy.

Spent the last few hours of the day in a tree stand yesterday myself for our muzzleloader season. Three does came by in range but on an adjacent property where I don't have permission to hunt. Watched them walk by without a care in the world right at 5 o'clock.

Always good to get out if even for a little bit.

Enjoy your day.

Game animals seem to know property lines better than we do!

And season dates. My dad told me he saw a shooter buck walking around in broad daylight just down the road yesterday morning, less than 24 hours after the season ended.
