with all the talk about the 357 maximum lately, is it as simple as rechambering a ruger blackhawk from 357 mag to 357 max? I know you can just recut the mag chamber on a single shot, is a revolver going to be any different?

Rugers revolvers had an extended frame specific to the longer mags.

The case at 1.6-inches is too long for the cylinder and frame.

Max,

Can the Ruger SBH be chambered to 360 Dan Wesson? Case length is 1.4 inches and Starline makes the brass for it.

Can't see why not. The .454, .475, .500 JRH, .500 Linebaugh and .500 WE are all 1.4-inc cases. That would be cool!

An easier conversion would be 357/44 Bain-Davis. You get 357max performance and it fits a standard cylinder, plus brass is easy as it?s simply 44mag brass.

Can you still get a cylinder converted to 357/44 B&D?
