Thanks. I am expecting a ragged hole Saturday. Much better than before the rebuild.

No this was just 25. Had to get it back on paper. A quarter will cover this group compared to 3" at 25 yards before working on it. If the weather cooperates Saturday I will finish sighting it in then move out to 100 yards. Should go 1.5 to 2 inches.

the model 28 S&W I built with the 2x leupold would do 1?@. 50 yds.

What absolutely baffled me was the jacketed bullets would do 2? at best but the cast bullets would absolutely stack in the same hole.

Try some different loads

If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

Nice!

Certainly tightened things up, whatever you did.

Fellers I will put all the details together in one post which was my original intention. It got a trigger job, new latch and pin , base pin, scope mount work and probably some more that escapes me right this second. I hope to get the bugs ironed out tomorrow. I am expecting 1.5 to 2 inch groups at 100 yards from this gun. I have already did another one of these shooting that good.

reflex264 is pistol work a hobby for you or do you own a shop? I always thought revolvers were inherently inaccurate thats why I never owned one

FOR THEIR INTENDED USES AND RANGE, REVOLVERS ARE VERY MUCH AN "INHERENTLY ACCURATE" PLATFORM.

"ADAPT OR DIE". I USE ALL CAPS, NOT BECAUSE I AM YELLING, BUT BECAUSE IT IS AN OLD HABIT FROM MY ARMY DAYS, PLUS IT IS EASIER TO TYPE AND READ.

No it's a hobby. If I turned into work it would wreck the hole thing! I build custom glocks, restore basket case rifles and shotguns and a lot of general keep me out of trouble stuff.
I call them rescue guns. For example I walked by a M77MK1 30-06 in a pawn shot a bunch of times. It was rough. Really rough. I tried to make them an offer but they didn't want to negotiate. It was covered in rust. The stock was battered but solid. What was't rusted was covered with camo duct tape. I couldn't stand seeing it in this condition so one day I just went and bought it. Got it home, cleaned the bore and shot it. The first group it ever shot as 1/2" at 100 yards. I rolled up my sleeves and went to work. Here is this ugly duckling now.

One of the lowest serial number 444s in existence was found in a closet that had been painted without removing the gun. 30 hours of work to undo the damage but it turned out pretty good as well.

I can't stand to see a gun mistreated.
