Hey there!

I have recently come across a few new powders that have peaked my interest and was wondering if anybody has any experience with them. Looks like all three are suitable for the big boomer magnums a lot of us shoot.

the most recent two are Accurate TCM and Accurate NO. 11FS

The third is Alliant 300-MP which has been out for a few years but I find very little info on it.

Anyone burning these powders?

I haven't tried the first two you mentioned, but I have gone through about 3 lbs of 300MP in 44 Mag, 45 Colt and 357 Maximum. It performs very much like 296/H110, but it requires about one grain more powder to equal fps from 296, but it seems to do so with less pressure. 296 seems to max out before 300MP. Accuracy and extreme spread are very good, and it measures well. 300MP performs extremely well in the 357 Maximum with 180 grain jacketed bullets. I'm getting 50-75 fps higher than 296 with equal groups at 50 yards from a Ruger revolver.

I have used tons of 300MP. It is great in nearly anything that H110/296 works in. As far as peak performance it will give more velocity with a lot of bullets than H110 but has a very narrow loading window. It is especial good in the 480 Ruger and 45 Colt with heavy bullets.

Interesting... thanks Seminole Wind and Reflex.

right now I shoot 45 colt and 454 Casull but hope to add a 480 Ruger to the bullpen soon.

Did you folks find any load data for 300-MP to work with or did you work up your own loads?

From what you are both saying it sounds like good stuff

I usually start with loaddata.com. I found lots of 300 MP loads there. I would imagine that Alliant has loads on their website as well. If you get stuck let me know and I'll look something up for you.

I have been loading 300MP in my 480 Super Redhawk also.

Just did a closer look and there is 300-MP data in the newest Lee Reloading Manual that I have.

I might have to pick some up and give it a try.

There is data in several magazine articles and on Alliant's website.
