Yesterday I took my wife for a little drive to break up our routine of doing nothing all day. We drove down to see my FFL guy & along the way I'm sure I spotted at least 15 hungry Rock Chucks! They were all over & all I had was my little 9mm carry gun & we were on pavement anyway. Drove right past Ken O'Neil's favorite spot & down to where Dr. Larry Rogers pounded them pretty hard last year. Didn't look like he had even put a dent in them & Larry hunts HARD! The weather was nice & then today, reality! Spring time in the rockies! This is standing in my front door trying to see the lake across the street, except I can't, it's snowing like crazy. Probably 3" in the last couple of hours but it sure is beautiful. It will all be melted off before dark.

Sixshot, I hear ya we are getting a little blast of winter here in NW Wyoming too. just before this front it was almost 60 and I was getting a tan!

I had to cut and split another rank of fire wood for both the house and the hardware store. We were letting the wood piles run out, and had to regroup over this latest cold snap. We should be seeing nice weather again next week.

Hey, Dick, I'm hoping that snow keeps them in a little longer so all these virus restrictions get loosened and Mike and I can come there this year. It's gotten to be the high point of my hunting each year.

Doc, I thought it would be melted off in a few hours but it kept snowing & there's more on the ground now! Might have to dig them out with a shovel.
I spotted at least 12-15 from the pavement when I drove down to the first place I ever took you & wasn't really looking that close because I was visiting with my wife along the way. The Chucks were hungry! We are way behind on weather.

Doc, so far there's only 1 case in the whole county & nothing in Franklin county or Bear Lake county to the south of us. The one case was a lady returning from Italy & she has recovered.
Today was nice but I saw several high school kids shooting at Rock Chucks, they are bored, can't go to town so they are blasting Chucks! I only saw 4. We need 10-12 more days for the pups to show up. I'll be back from bear hunting then & I "think" this madness might be easing up a bit in our area, we are pretty remote. Takes 2 days to get a letter to your next door neighbor!

Oh man!-I want to get on some Idaho rock chucks.

I WAS coming to Idaho in June to hunt bears, but the Kung flu has postponed that till 2021. I hope to find some rock chucks then.
