Can one of the WSM's be built on a bolt action pistol? I don't think it is safe doing it on the Encore.

If someone wanted to do it which builder would be the best place to start?

Im sure there are several good builders out there. With that being said Apache Machine owned by Steve Roe would be my 1st choice.

I have a 7mm saum and a 6.5 PRC. Short mags fit great in an XP-100 action. You can either have the bolt face opened up to house the magnum round or you can buy a new bolt with the magnum bolt face from PTG. Apache Machine my first choice!

There are plenty of short mag bolt pistols out there doing the Lord's work! You can build a bolt action pistol in any caliber you can build a bolt action rifle - though some might be a bit much!

I shot one JD Jones built. It was the .378 WBY case cut to 2" and necked to 50 cal. It was a beast. Fired it 6 times and my hand was turning numb. Loved every bit of it though.

What WSM/SAUM/PRC cartridge (Or larger) are you going to do in your bolt rig?

I have had a craving for a single shot 270 WSM. Can't get the barrel for on in my Encore so it would have to be a bolt rig.

Have you checked with MGM on the Encore barrel? I've done rechambers in Encores in 300 WM, 458 WM, 458 Lott, and now I've got two projects I may eventually finish in 450 NE and 500 NE. Not because I need them or they are practical but because I can.
