After several hours working on the rust bucket action it is coming together. I am going to tear it back down after I get it rolling to work on the finish some more but everything is solid. Now to find a scope. I wanted to put a 2.5x8 Weaver on it since I have them on several guns now but since they discontinued them they are like a needle in a a hay stack. Here is the present incarnation:

A little T L C goes a long way. You have the old war horse looking good.

In the back ground is my 30-06. Its action is getting a trigger job too. I never thought it was that bad till I got done with the 260.

I have a 30-06 barrel for mine, no brake [nasty bugger] and a 410 GNR with brake[lots nicer to shoot].

I finally was able to get the scope I wanted. Another Weaver 2.5x8 used on an auction. Apparently I am not the only fan of these scopes. I had to pay new price or a bit above to get it. It is in great shape so I was glad to get it. That is plenty of magnification for the hunting ranges I will use this gun for. It is mounted and waiting for a fore end. Within a couple of weeks I should have it shooting.

I have that same scope on three guns and my son has one on one of his guns. They have worked very well for me.
