Think I'm going to go back to using sub-sonic ammo in my .22 revolvers and pistols, recently switched to Mini-Mags which have too much velocity for squirrels IMO. Shot this one head on in the face and got complete pass threw, came out his back just in front of the tail. Most would say that complete pass through is a good thing but not for squirrels if you plan to clean and eat them.

Not when pass through is the long way through the squirrel.

Sideway head shot is fine. From head through the body and out the tail insertion is a tenderizer.

Good shooting! I normally run standard velocity or sub-sonic for hunting as well. Still plenty effective as far away as I can hit at squirrel.
