 Front Sight Catches in Holster

I've tried a couple different types of holsters for my S&W 629 with the standard front sight and it sticks in the holster. I have a leather one now which I like but want to fix this. I was thinking about adding a radius to the edge of the sight slightly. Anyone have the issue and what did you do?

I will tell you that I need a really crisp edge on my front sight or I have problems with consistency on elevation... But I can give you no help other than to say keep searching on holsters. I guess one possibility would be if you Gould get a piece of gorilla tape to stick to the holster in the sight channel to slick it up but that would be a lame temporary fix at best.

Not sure my eyes are good enough to have a sharp edge help. I see some sights are tapered back which I think would work.

File a very slight 45 on the sharp edge of your sight. It won't take much and it won't catch on holster. Just enough to break the sharpness of the edge.

MAY BE EASIER, AND A BETTER IDEA, TO SHAVE LEATHER THAN CUT STEEL. USE SOME LEATHER CONDITIONER ON THE INSIDE OF THE HOLSTER AND WORK THE GUN IN AND OUT A BUNCH OF TIMES. YOU CAN ALSO USE A CIRCULAR FILE TO SHAVE OFF A LITTLE LEATHER IN THE SIGHT CHANNEL.
"ADAPT OR DIE". I USE ALL CAPS, NOT BECAUSE I AM YELLING, BUT BECAUSE IT IS AN OLD HABIT FROM MY ARMY DAYS, PLUS IT IS EASIER TO TYPE AND READ.

working leather is easier than filing your sight and messing with the square edges that your eyes are used to picking up for a sight picture. making a homemade skive to clean out that area can be done with a small diameter tube beveled to a sharp edge and trimmed at a 45 degree angle so it is only cutting on one edge. go slow and check clearance often, kind of like a haircut-you can't put it back on.;)

Burnishing the inside of the sight channel wouldn't be a bad idea either.
