how well will the 22-250 perform when fired from a 15" barrel. Thinking about getting one for hunting groundhogs.

Both of the ones i have had (Encore and Striker) perform great!
We shot prairie dogs out to 250 yards (lazer range finder) shot some farther i think but didn't have the range finder to prove it.
Both mine shot great with 40 grain V-Max bullets, also shoot the 50 grn Blitzkings with great success (and the different color tips help identify which is which )

I have a Striker 22-250...my barrel was a 26" rifle varmint taper cut back to 16" w/ a target crown. It will shoot in the .3's and .4's with occassional groups into the .1's and .2's!! I only load 35gr Varget and 50gr V-Max w/ CCI200 primers and RP cases...the only load I ever tried. It has worked great in two guns. An educated guess is telling me the fps is very near 3300 in the 16" tube. I ran my drop charts to 500 yards using this number and the BC of .242 for the 50gr V-Max...all the dial in's using MOA were dead on! I plan on using it at the Southfork g-hog target shoot this year.

For the 22-250 I would go with the 3 to 12 Burris no questions ask. The balistic plex reticle would be a bonus.

I've been passed Bee's quite a few times but never stopped...don't know why though.

I'll vouch for that!!! I now own the Encore tube he talks about, as a result of the prairie dog shoot. Saddled her with a Burris 3x12 w/ ball plex and love it!! Go for it, you wont regret it!!
