Saw this on SP forum. Wonder who might BUY

I thought S&W bought T/C arms for the barrel making capabilities?
Not sure if this is a good thing or not, Guess it depends on the new owners.
What do you think?

I saw this as well. It's a bit troubling that it doesn't seem they have a buyer yet and I'm sure it will drive prices up.

I'll keep what I have for now. That said, if anyone has an Encore Turkey gun in 12 gauge they want to part with, hit me up.

There is one listed on Accurate shooter.

If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

The statement from Haus of Arms doesn't seem as dyer....I have a feeling that the new owner will be announced very soon. Hopefully, the quality will improve from the S&W production.

This would be a great acquisition foe Weatherby.

I don’t see anyone picking up TC, the days of single shot pistols are over, the market just isn’t there anymore.New shooters are not buying single shot pistols, just our fraternity that is already in the game, luckily there are a ton of barrels and frames.

T/C does more than just pistols though. I think the Encore is still decently popular enough, maybe not the pistol variants, but the entire platform itself. And their muzzleloader line goes without saying.

Any news on this?

I am a bit ticked at myself that I did not buy a new Encore frame 2 years ago.

I have it from a reliable source that the patents for both the Encore and original contender have expired and the rights have been bought by Leigh Defense ( new owners of SSK Industries) and they are in the final stages of remaking the contender with the encore to follow later this year

It will be interesting to say the least.

With all the frames that have been made… just saying.

The SSK-50 is essentially a G2 Contender. I'll be interested to see if they can produce an Encore derivative in volume.

The ssk50 is a copy of the original contender, except with different etching options, or flatside. It has no reinforcement gussets on the side like a G2. IF it gains any strength over an original, it would only be by metallurgical advancements since the first were made. I highly doubt it will be rated for higher pressure cartridges than before.

The SSK50 has been the slowest to come to the consumer (when you consider the original wait times we were given) that i can remember.
I do hope they get their act together though.
I have even seriously thought about getting one.

Good for you!
Let me know when it actually arrives.
When did this first start?
2 years ago? Shorter? Longer?

Sooo much trouble getting a casting from a foundry when TC did it without issue for decades…..

And an over 2 year roll out with zero progress.

There are red flags everywhere.
