The 22 GT, has a Hart 7T 15.9", heavy varmint taper, and a Holland Radial Baffle brake.
McMillan stock. Peter Angelos of Omega Precision did the build. He lives here and his shop is in Gillette, Wyoming.
The MV with the Hornady 88 grain ELDM is 2886 fps. Using Reloader 26 and Alpha 22GT brass.
Zee had some MLD tags to get filled, so recognize this is a shooting and culling get together.
The meat that would come from these does, already had families to go to.
This was about fun, culling, meat for others, and a little bullet testing.
Neither one of us had used this bullet for hunting.
There were a number of MLD tags that needed to be filled, and I took care of three of them.
This XP is quite new for me, and it is also the first time that I have been able to draw blood with it.
The shot was short, at 140 yards from the prone position. Impact velocity was around 2,650 fps

It was a quartering shot and I hit her on the shoulder. Absolute destruction

It continued it travel through the some of vitals, through the stomach, and a small portion of the base of the bullet was just under the hide in the rear flank.

May use this for antelope next year.
As distance is further/impact speeds slower it should not open up quite as fast.

I have been swapping around equipment lately. My Encores have all went away, and have been replaced with Nosler M48's. One of which is a 22 Nosler. The 22 Nosler is not nearly as fast as the 22GT, but it is still fairly impressive. I am getting 2800 with 77 SMK bullets, while you are getting close to 2900 with 88 ELD-M bullets. That is a pretty significant improvement in performance. I had never considered using my 22 Nosler on deer size game, but it looks like your 22GT did a pretty good job.
That is one good looking handgun, and looks to be another shooter for you.

I have always been a fan of the heavy for caliber A-Max's or ELD-M's for up to deer sized game. I hope to use the 22 GT center-grip or rear-grip on antelope in the future.
Those Nosler pistols have a great accuracy record!

Nice! Looks like performance is NOT lacking :-)

Ernie, I know I asked before but where did the ammo carrier you are wearing on your forearm come from? When you gave me the info last time, I found the website but couldnt find the unit on their site.
